1. Tea. I had my friend Mamiko over for tea today and we talked until I had taiko. It's really great to have a friend here in Ujitawara.
2. Taiko. We're beginning to learn a new song in taiko and it's pretty fun.
3. Children. The kids at the nursery school today were actually asking me how to say things in English. I think they may have learned something today and if it was even one word that makes me really happy.

So far this is my favorite thing today: laughing at lunch with my friend Foster Cole who was telling me about a story in The Onion. He was laughing with such unbridled enthusiasm it made me laugh, too. Also, it's a beautiful sunny day and the trees seem to be joyful in their bright reds, yellow, and all colors in between.
