Adorable

It's been a long week of conferences, lectures and mingling so I'm off to bed soon, but I wanted to record one thing:

1. Today one of my students in middle school (an 8th grade boy) asked the Japanese English teacher if "Sarah" was my first name or my last name. Then he asked which part of my name "Emily" was. Then we told him about my last name and he was a bit confused but mostly surprised. It was just a small thing but it was moving at the same time. I couldn't believe he remembered my middle name. I guess I have a new friend in 2-2 (second year of junior high, second classroom).
